I No Longer Comment on “Nofollow” Blogs
Why the heck do experienced bloggers even bothering commenting on nofollow blogs? You get absolutely no credit for doing it. Unless its something very important I won’t ever waste my time commenting on blogs that don’t follow. If your blog is geared for program reviews or ordinary visitors (non bloggers) than they won’t care if your blog is dofollow or nofollow. But if your blog is about blogging for money or making money as a blogger or other similiar things, don’t insult my intelligence by expecting a comment when you nofollow it.
I got better things to do with my time, then leaving a comment with a blogger who isn’t even nice enough to give me a dofollow. Maybe if all the bloggers start boycotting these nofollow blogs, then they will drop to the wayside.
Whats everyone elses stance on this? Do you comment on nofollow blogs?

I don’t. Some of the very popular blogs require you to _register_ as well. I can’t think of anyone I’d bother to do that for, and certainly not for a ‘makemoneyondeminternets’ style of blog.

I will post on no-follow blogs because it is still counted as a back link by Google it just does`nt pass on any PR juice.
And a back link is a back link they all add up.

Yes, you are right. If you have do follow blog, traffic will increase and comment will give to you.

My point exactly. But unless I really liked the post, I do not comment. Nice post!

100% Right!!
When a blogger don’t “do follow” it means
He is a selfish blogger who only want tension but not willing to give back.
From a professional point of view I have a strong opinion about the “no follow” “do follow” thingy (I’ll publish it on my new coming website/blog…)
Mean while, here is a link to a “do follow” blog directory
http://www.dofollowblogs.com/
This guy doing us all a great service, lets support him.
Enjoy

You make some valid points. But i guess its a bit judgemental. I mean by commenting there giving you an impression, increasing traffic etc etc.
And take me for instance, i have put a site of myn in the url. Its not a blog, yet i have several. So will you block the do-follow comment even though i read this blog twice a week? And even though all my other blogs are do-follow, yet i have a site in the url part?
I find myself asking the same questions to. I stick by the motto, karma. If i do good for others it will help me in return. Thats just how blogging works i guess.

I love how some of the big bloggers (problogger.net) pretend to be helping you out, yet they are too greedy to even let you have any of their backlinks via a dofollow.
Like I said, if the blog is geared to a non-webmaster audience, then I can understand nofollow because the average internet user doesn’t even know what that means or even would care. But I don’t see how anyone could bother replying on a “make money blog” if the owner doesnt even give you credit.

I’ll comment on any post if I have something relevant to say. I don’t leave comments purely to get links.

This is absolutely correct. Its a trade off. You get comments we get links

Not only should you restrict commenting (this is for google not for fans of a site) to Do Follow blogs but you also should spend too much time commenting on sites that have a PR less than 3. Once and a while is fine, especially if you think the page will gain some PR in time. Most of your time should be spent commenting on high PR do follow pages. And when you find them make sure you bookmark them and return. (yes – there are tools out there to help with this).

Good point Used hockey. One thing I noticed though is a lot of the High PR sites tend to be strict on anchor text(they want you to use your name), which almost makes them useless.

I’ve also stopped the No-Follow blog comments. For the time you spend giving a comment of someones blog, with no credit back to you makes no sense. I’ve been using the SeoQuake plug-in for FireFox works great!

But after reading this…I am now onwards commenting on only dofollow blogs. Keep it up…

You are so right!
Like you said, if more people start following this practice, there will be no one left to comment on their precious blog.

I am new to blogging, I don’t know much about dofollow. But I heard that many people just use dofollow

True readers don’t really care about no follow or do follow. If you can only get comments if you have do follow enabled, then you aren’t really getting true readers, just people who are wanting to steal some of your PR. Do Follow is great to help your blog get started, but eventually it needs to be turned off.

I am with you Paul. Our intelligent is most valuable thing that we would like anyone to give appreciation. Commenting on No follow blog seems like helping people make money without any respect.
The Grinder: please note this.. True reader will not make any comment. Because make a comment means share knowledge. If people want to gain knowledge it is enough read the blog and get off.

Hi guys
I posted this on another page so feel free to delete it but my blog is currently no follow (I assume). I want to change it and wondered if you could help me do it?
I have an e-blogger blog about Tom Dwan and was wondering how I too could change my links to do follow?
I too would like to give something back.
Thanks

You can install a dofollow plugin if you use wordpress.
