How To Increase Your Google Pagerank
Increasing Google Pagerank is really nothing more than the art of backlink specialization. Pagerank doesn’t treat every backlink equal, but instead on sort of a rating system. Google Pagerank is seen as the holy grail of SEO. I think centering your SEO optimization around pagerank is overrated, but most don’t seem to care to find out what goes beyond SEO besides increasing pagerank.
I wrote a good article on the many ways you can get hundreds of backlinks for free here I have a more in depth technical explanation of Google Pagerank and how you can optimize your website internally here
The main overall points to keep in mind for increasing Google pagerank, is that you should focus mainly on getting backlinks of PR 3+. You can check the Pagerank of a site by using an online pagerank checker. One other thing to keep in mind, is that you check the pagerank of the actual page you want the backlink from. The reason being, is each page on a website often has different pageranks. Reciprocal links also don’t seem to be as beneficial in increasing pagerank as one way backlinks to your site.

I couldn’t agree more about the general worthlessness of PageRank. Chasing it is a fool’s errand. But, it’s driven by those who can’t find a way to create value on their own, so they are trying to artificially inflate their site’s PR in order to sell links. A pretty sad state of affairs.
