HostGator Review
I currently have been hosting all 13 of my domains for the last few months at Hostgator. All domains are on one account for a good monthly price. My account gets a total of tens of thousands of unique visitors a month and so far have had no problems with slow servers or many other problems I’ve experienced on past hosts.
Hostgators servers are fast, their support is friendly, and all their plans come with Fantastico and Cpanel. Fantastico is great because with the click of the mouse, it can install most of the commonly used blog, forum, shopping cart, gallery, mailing list, and content management system software. Fantastico will also automatically tell you when there is an update on the software. Updates are common and are necessary for minimizing a hacker exploiting bugs in old software. The convenience of Fantastico comes especially handy when you have multiple websites or you are new to installing web software. Cpanel is the most common web hosting software administration software, so I recommend using a web host like Host gator to get familiar with using CPanel.
Hostgator’s Hatchling plan will host one domain on the 1 year plan for 84 dollars, but they often have coupon offers on their site which saves you a good amount of money. If you have multiple domains or plan on running multiple domains or parking them in the future, you can host them all under their Baby
plan. The baby plan is $9.95 a month, however you can get it cheaper by prepaying 2 or 3 years in advance and by using the coupons on their site.
Some people find that they want to sell their unused bandwith to others through the use of a Reseller Hosting account at Hostgator. For example, say you have 4 domains, you can host all of these on a reseller account, and then can sell a few more accounts to someone else. The reseller account costs more, but if you are re-selling to a few at a lower price than what hostgator charges, you can make up for the price difference and make a profit from re-selling your account. You are basically your own miniature web hosting company in the process.
If your website(s) are handling a very large amount of traffic you will have to use Hostgator’s Dedicated Server. plan. This should only be necessary for those with dozens of medium trafficked sites or one very large trafficked sited.
Once you make payment, your account should be activated within usually 15-20 minutes for the shared hosting plans.

I am a newbie to Hostgator, I signed up about two weeks ago under the Baby plan and so far it has been fantastic. The account was up and running within an hour and I had three sites running under it within 24 hours after the Nameservers updated.
Previously I had always opted for more expensive dedicated servers or virtual servers so was quite surprised at just how good and inexpensive HG was!

I’m hosting all of my blogs with HostGator right now. It’s a great company, and I have never had any problems. There support desk is excellent as well.

Wow, I really need to switch my host to hostgator. My host’s support sucks.

Hostgator are very good. Only one little niggle: They serve up _their_ ad-filled 404 page if yours is not set up right. Also they’ll redirect traffic from your domain to a ‘parking’ service if your domain isn’t set up right.
Cheeky, but given what they charge, understandable, I suppose.

I have been using hostgator since January 2008, and all I got to say is WoW! True there reseller package is a bit overpriced, but it’s surely worth it. Before hostgator I was jumping from host to host, jumping ships from drowning ships. Since I used to be cheap with hosting, I suffered lots of damages and losing alot of income. Now with Hostgator I’m never down, I’m never out of business, they take cash from my card every 3 months and I never have to worry. Keep it up hostgator!
