Affiliate marketing dying with recent Clickbank changes?
Once upon a time programs under Clickbank were some of the biggest affiliate program moneymakers on the internet. “Rich jerk” an E-book about getting rich online through affiliate and “black hat” SEO style webmaster work was the biggest moneymaker. Well a lot of people wanting to “get rich quick” on the internet bought Rich Jerk’s e-book by now(at least anyone willing to actually purchase it) and has now had declining sales. Becomehated was another rich jerk copycat site using clickbank that was also heavily advertised in the beginning, but now not as sales have dried up no one is buying/talking about it.
Clickbank affiliate program changed it’s rules a few months ago to make it complicated to get paid. You now have to have a purchase from two types of credit cards (mastercard and visa) and the minimum is higher now to get paid. At that rate for even a modest trafficed website you could be waiting many months to get your first payment.
So with the recent change in rules of Clickbank to make it harder to get paid, and the declining sales in Clickbanks top earners such as prowealth sucess, Rich jerk, and become hated you have to wonder if the online affiliate market is drying up overall rather quickly? And does anyone really believe in making money online if the e-books on these subjects are declining?
My answer is the affiliate market on the internet is definitely not dying. I think it’s just evolving and since Rich jerk and a couple other “get rich quick” e-books were some of their biggest earners for clickbank that after a few years you have to naturally expect that the same old market of e-books is going to dry up and get stale.
The internet is still “relatively young” and it will constantly be evolving. Heck no one even started really using blogs until what 2002? I didn’t even know much about blogging until I created one myself! I was still stuck in old fashioned “web 1.0″ thinking.
All it means is webmasters will move onto other affiliate markets hoping that it will earn them even more and on the flipside consumers will look for the newest product hoping it contains information the previous ones didn’t and will be a better deal.
There is other kinds of products on clickbank besides e-books. Some markets are more easy to be saturated then others. If you have a recipe site and want to sell a e-book on recipes through clickbank you will never have to worry about internet saturation in the affiliate market as a webmaster because there will always be people who want recipes.
And on a positive note according to my blog post Good news for webmasters and bloggers the affiliate marketing probably will grow so it’s definitely not too late to start a website on affiliate marketing.

I agree that the affiliate marketing is not dead. People are just more skeptical over what they are buying. I can see and increase if online sotres offering affiliate programs like amazon.
