About Twitter Social Networking
I seen a few prominent bloggers mention Twitter, mostly with good reviews. Personally the idea I think just is rather lame. Now I do some social networking on some of my sites, but twitter is where I draw the line. You can read more about how it works here. Definitely not a site worth wasting your time if you want to use social networking effectively.
I think social networking is just a major waste of time. The traffic is fleeting and it takes a lot to time to keep it going. I think this is an attempt by Twitter to come up with a new idea to stand out. If you do social networking, there is more effective social networking sites out there. I think Digg and stumbleupon are the easiest to use to build traffic.

I think Twitter is a bit of a fad at the moment. Let’s face it, all that time updating what you’re currently doing could be better spent actually doing something. I can’t think an invariably lazy population will make this a long-term success.

I do agree with you on Twitter its kind of lame. In my opinion bloggers using Twitter are just trying to build a reality show around them. I tried Twitter but its just not for me. Other social sites are better. Digg can get you tons of traffic if your story gets to the front page and some bookmarking sites can get you a hit or two but Twitter is just ridiculous. By the way, I recommend using Socialmarker dot com you can find tons of social sites there plus the utility itself is very useful.

hi, I must agree with one of your lines there, “social networking is just a major waste of time”.
I believe that if you are going to earn money online using ads, then getting traffic from social network is not the best solution. You tend to get people who are “blind” to adverts.
In other words, if you are looking to make money online thru ads, then you are talking about the organic traffic, which is from those who googled.
Cheers!

When i write a blog post and send an update via twitter i get 200 visitors… so by what your saying 200 visitors for only 5 seconds of my time is a waste of time?????
It only takes 2 seconds to write an update, what would you rather - waste 2 hours sending the same message to 100 peaple on a chat client, emailing 100 peaple or 2 seconds writing a short message once to 100 peaple?
I too want to spend my time doing better things, so twitter is a great timesaver.
Can you give more info to why its crap? you need to give more info to persuade normal peaple that its bad.
