Technorati is a long time popular search engine used by bloggers.

When you search technorati it will find the latest blog posts in their search engine. The most recent updated posts are the ones that show first for those searched keywords. So unlike regular search engines, where its all about SEO and pagerank to get to the top, you will instead find the freshest content in the beginning results.

Another useful thing about technorati, is it can tell you all the bloggers that are linking to your blog through a blog post or blogroll. This gives you a great opportunity to exchange links or comment on their blog.

While I haven’t gotten a whole lot of traffic as a result of Technorati, it only takes about 15 minutes to register and claim your blog. Blog software like Wordpress will automatically “ping” technorati after each post. Pinging is where it will tell Technorati you have just updated your blog with new content. Technorati will then spider your site and update their search engine with your new post.
